Games raise increasing interest in volunteering

According to a survey by the CSV charity more than three million people have been inspired by the Olympics to volunteer more regularly.

More than three million people have been inspired by the Olympics to volunteer more regularly, according to a survey by the Community Service Volunteers (CSV) charity.

CSV chief executive, Lucy de Groot, said the 70,000 volunteer ‘games makers' who helped run the event and the 8,000 ‘ambassadors' have helped change people's perception of volunteers.
