Gaming the Budget 2015

All eyes will be on the pre-election Budget on 18 March, but the real political spending choices to be made after the General Election are options for the size and shape of the state, writes Jonathan Werran

With the 13 or so weeks to the 7 May General Election whittling down at alarming pace, there's a temptation to be so blinded by the campaigning razzmatazz as to miss the serious spending alternatives and fiscal choices that are on offer from the three main political parties.

And this means a real difference between the parties' plans for the size and composition of the state.
