£1.2bn post-Audit Commission savings on track, says Lewis

Local government minister Brandon Lewis insists more than £1bn savings to be made from abolition of the Audit Commission.

Local government minister Brandon Lewis has insisted the Coalition remains on course to deliver more than £1bn from the abolition of the Audit Commission.

Mr Lewis has made the claim to coincide with today's publication of a summary of responses to its consultation on secondary legislation on the future of local audit.
