Government efficiency experts helped save the public purse £14.3bn in the last year, an annual Cabinet Office report has indicated.

Government efficiency experts helped save the public purse £14.3bn in the last year, an annual Cabinet Office report has indicated.

According to the Efficiency and Reform Group's (ERG's) figures for 2013/14, which are management information and not counted as national or official statistics, the lion's share comprised £5.4bn contract savings made through a radical overhaul of government procurement through the establishment of the new Crown Commercial Service.
