£1.7bn care black hole

Councils will have to make some difficult decisions if they are to meet a £1.76bn black hole in social care budgets, a new report has revealed.

The report has been jointly published by the ~Local Government Association~ (LGA) and the ~Association of Directors of Social Services~ (ADSS), and blames the funding shortfall on government under-funding and demographic changes.
