Legal authority for the multibillion-pound Forth Replacement Crossing (FRC) has been given, following royal assent for legislation required to build the scheme.
The final invitation to tender for the principal FRC contract was issued in December, which saw the end of a year-long competitive process between Transport Scotland – the national vehicle to fund infrastructure projects – and the two consortia bidding for the principal FRC contract – Forthspan and Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors.
