£2.5bn to cut bed-blocking

Lib Dems have called for a £2.5bn injection for social care spending over the next five years to reduce bed blocking in hospitals.

Lib Dems have called for a £2.5bn injection for social care spending over the next five years to reduce bed blocking in hospitals.

The party said the extra cash should be spent on homecare, GP surgeries and social activities to prevent the elderly from unnecessarily ending up in hospital.
