Six coastal towns receive a £5m boost from communities secretary, Eric Pickles, as part of efforts to regenerate seaside economies.

Six coastal towns this week received a £5m boost from communities secretary, Eric Pickles, as the Government seeks ways to regenerate Britain's seaside economies.

Two local authority schemes were among the successful bidders for cash from the Treasury-backed Coastal Communities Fund, a £24m pot created to diversify seaside economies across the UK through both capital and revenue projects.
