'£600m financial black hole' as ministers scrap academies Bill

Council leaders have warned they are facing a £600m financial black hole after the Government abandoned its controversial Education for All Bill.

Council leaders have warned they are facing a £600m financial black hole after the Government abandoned its controversial Education for All Bill.

The County Council Network (CCN) has claimed local authorities will miss out on £600m of educational services grants (ESG), when the current system ends in August 2017.
