London boroughs face a £900m adult social care funding shortfall within the next five years, according to a report published this week.

The study, by London Councils and consultant Ernst and Young, published on 9 January, warns local authorities in the capital are already spending one-third of their total budgets on adult social care – and the figure will increase as the number of Londoners aged 65 and over also rises.
