Getting on top of the climate crisis in South Derbyshire

South Derbyshire DC has embedded tackling climate change into the council’s culture and its efforts have been recognised by Climate Emergency UK, says Allison Thomas.

Climate change is something which affects us all and, to bring real change, it is important that each individual takes steps to reduce the impact on the environment.

If we are to expect this of our residents and customers, it is imperative that local authorities lead the way in tackling climate change. This is something we have taken seriously in South Derbyshire and why I am proud the council's efforts have been recognised by Climate Emergency UK in its assessment of UK local authorities' climate and environment action plans.
