Leeds City Council has awarded Veolia ES Aurora preferred bidder status for a contract to deliver the city's residual waste through a purpose built Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility.

Following extensive assessment of the final two bids, Veolia ranked higher than rival bidder, Aire Valley Environmental, in the private-finance competition to build and run a high-tech, eco-friendly waste treatment facility.
