GLA Conservatives back Boris's cuts

London's Conservative borough leaders have backed Boris Johnson's election pledge to cut the Greater London Authority precept by 10%.

London's Conservative borough leaders have backed incumbent mayor Boris Johnson's election pledge to cut the Greater London Authority precept by 10%.

According to figures issued by Cllr Teresa O'Neill, leader of the Conservative group at London Councils, in his two terms of office, Mr Johnson's predecessor and main election rival, Ken Livingstone oversaw increases in the amount City Hall charges to support police, fire, transport, regeneration and other functions of 96% and 152% respectively.
