Government bidding culture attacked

The growing trend of forcing councils to bid for small, policy-specific grants has been attacked as an ‘inefficient use of public resources’ by a think-tank.

The growing trend of forcing councils to bid for small, policy-specific grants has been attacked as an ‘inefficient use of public resources' by a think-tank.

Councils have recently had to bid for a wide range of Government cash, including a slice of the £675m Future High Streets Fund and a portion of a Whitehall pot designed to help develop pocket parks or refurbish existing ones.
