The Government needs to change track on its infrastructure levy plans

The Government's proposals for the Infrastructure Levy risk creating the worst of both worlds - fewer affordable homes delivered, and less funding captured for vital infrastructure, says Joanna Killian.

It may not be as high up on the news agenda as the present cost of living crisis, but we still face a major housing and infrastructure crisis in England.

As a country we haven't built enough properties and as a result prices are vastly above average earnings, while for the developments that are delivered there aren't enough effective mechanisms to adequately capture funding for infrastructure.
