Government departments: 'adopt a national health and wellbeing board approach'

Poverty and inequality should be understood and tackled as a public health issue, says a new paper from the Association of Directors of Children’s Services. Ann McGauran reports

The country needs a system that is designed to protect the health and wellbeing of all children from pre-conception and throughout the course of their lives, says a new report.

Poverty and inequality are ‘intrinsically linked to poor health outcomes and must be understood and addressed as a public health issue', according to the position paper from the Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS).
