Government must 'focus policy' on North's small cities

Northern small and medium-sized cities (SMCs) contribute more to the UK economy than Wales and Northern Ireland combined but need to be better connected, a report has found.

Analysis by think-tank IPPR North into northern SMCs has found they contribute £82bn a year to the economy and represent one third of the northern economy.
