Government must revert to previous home improvement support levels at minimum

Dr Carole Easton asks why we spend more money maintaining Parliament than on home improvement grants for all of England’s 20m privately rented and owner occupied homes.

The Houses of Parliament are an apt symbol of the nation's housing as a whole.  
 
Dating back more than 900 years, it is one of the oldest continuously used parliaments in the world. And it is beginning to show its age.
 

It is ‘leaking, dropping masonry and at constant risk of fire' with asbestos throughout the building, a parliamentary report found.
