Government speeds up shift of Whitehall jobs out of London

The Government has brought forward plans to move 22,000 civil service jobs out of London as part of its levelling up agenda.

The Government has brought forward plans to move 22,000 civil service jobs out of London as part of its levelling up agenda.

Ministers now aim to reach the milestone by 2027 rather than 2030, with Aberdeen, Darlington and Greater Manchester set to have second headquarters for three government departments and over 300 government jobs heading to Wrexham.
