Ministers this week announced a £5m cash pot to encourage councils or charities to undertake collective energy switching.

Ministers this week announced a £5m cash pot designed to encourage councils or charities to undertake collective energy switching or purchasing schemes.

The cash will be made available to authorities or third sector bodies which produce the most innovative methods of helping local residents or businesses to slash their energy bills – and forms part of the coalition's intensifying campaign to tackle soaring fuel bills.
