The Government Procurement Service is setting up a framework for the Public Services Network (PSN) and associated communications equipment and services, with a total contract value worth of between £500m-£2bn.

Described by project overseers the Cabinet Office as a ‘network of networks', the PSN promises to deliver collaborative working across the public sector. More than 100 contractors are expected to sign up to the framework, which will be available to central government departments and their agencies, non-departmental public bodies, the NHS and local authorities. Some charities and private organisations will also be allowed access.
