Family doctors should make youth mental health a priority, the chair of a leading medical professionals group has urged.

Chair of the Royal College of GPs (RCGP) , Dr Maureen Baker, today warned fewer than half of GPs receive paediatric or psychiatry training.

‘General practice teams and so GPs have a crucial role to play in improving the mental health of younger people,' Dr Baker said.
