Green bank to lend by April 2012

The Government today confirmed the Green Investment Bank (GIB) would start lending from April 2012.

The Government today confirmed the Green Investment Bank (GIB) would start lending from April 2012 as ministers try to unlock vital private sector finance to move the UK to a low carbon society.

Deputy prime minister Nick Clegg claimed in a speech at an event in London the initial £3bn capital should enable the bank to catalyse an additional £15bn of investment for green infrastructure.
