Ministers have stressed the independence of the Government-appointed team that will support Kensington & Chelsea RLBC's (RBKC) long-term recovery plan following the Grenfell Tower fire.

Residents of the estate surrounding Grenfell Tower had condemned the decision to base the recovery taskforce in the council offices, warning this undermined the impartiality of the team.
