Groundhog Day for adult social care reform

Sarah McClinton, President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, explains what the Government stalling on social care reform will mean for older and disabled people and carers.

The thing I am most concerned about the next steps the Government announced last week is the impact it will have for years on people who need care and support.

When the Government published People at the Heart of Care we were still dealing with the worst of the pandemic. But the vision they set out gave us hope for the future. It focused on the care and support people needed and aimed to put people in control of their care.
