Grounds for change

Build to rent could be a crucial player for housing and a number of councils are doing innovative work in the field, says Ian Fletcher

Housing has been creeping up the national agenda for some time, and it now ranks alongside immigration and the NHS as a key battleground for politicians.

The current government has pledged to build one million homes over the course of the parliament, which means that we must deliver 200,000 homes a year. This is no mean feat, and we are going to have to have all hands on deck to make this a reality.
