The urgent need to tackle challenges around workforce capacity across local government has come to the fore in recent months.

The County Councils' Network's report Workforce of the Future laid bare the extent of the problem while the Local Government Association and Solace have been piloting a national recruitment campaign designed to attract new talent into the sector.
