Going for growth in Warwickshire

Warwickshire CC has approved a business case for a £300m economic recovery plan to drive regeneration and support its medium-term financial resilience. Rob Powell explains.

One of Warwickshire CC's two priority outcomes is to support the county's economy to ensure it remains vibrant and is supported by the right jobs, training, skills and infrastructure.

We have, in recent years, enjoyed a growing economy. With a major strength in the automotive sector, particularly around electric vehicle development and connected and autonomous vehicles, a nationally significant cluster in the video game sector, a brilliant tourism sector buoyed by the county's growing reputation as a destination for cycling, and prior to COVID-19 there was every reason to be optimistic.
