Around 6,000 staff from May Gurney have transferred over to the Kier Group as company’s takeover continues.

Around 6,000 staff from May Gurney have transferred over to the Kier Group as the company's takeover of the support services group continues.

The newly-expanded Kier Group will continue to use May Gurney's office in Norfolk as a shared services centre.

‘Importantly, May Gurney share similar values, which will go a long way towards the successful integration of both businesses,' said Kier group chief executive, Paul Sheffield.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new employees and trust they will enjoy playing a part in the future success of Kier Group.'

Greg Michael, group strategy and business development director, added: ‘We are excited about joining forces with Kier. May Gurney's range of services complement Kier's existing offering and a combination of the two creates a market-leading and well-balanced business and enhances our joint prospects.'
