Local government minister Luke Hall has suggested any referendum on introducing a directly-elected mayor for Croydon LBC should be held in May alongside the local elections.

Local government minister Luke Hall has suggested any referendum on introducing a mayor for Croydon LBC should be held in May alongside the local elections.

It had been suggested that the referendum would take place in October as a free-standing poll after a petition for a vote secured more than 20,000 signatures.
