Hampshire must fill '£55m gap'

Hampshire CC is having to meet a £55m funding gap in its children's services budget next year, caused by grant cuts and rising demand.

The total budget is £1bn, of which £803m is for schools which the county says ‘have been relatively protected from cuts, causing additional pressure on the remaining portion of £172m'.
