Hanningfield arrested over council fraud allegations

Police arrest Lord Hanningfield on allegations of false accounting whilst Essex CC council leader, less than a week after early release from prison on parliamentary expenses conviction.

Police have arrested Former Essex County Council leader Lord Hanningfield over allegations of false accounting, less than a week after his early release from prison for fiddling over £14,000 in parliamentary expenses.

Following yesterday's arrest the former Conservative peer, whose real name is Paul White, was released on bail until 18 January 2012.
