Hanningfield loses appeal against expenses conviction

Former Essex CC leader Lord Hanningfield loses appeal against a conviction for falsely claiming expenses.

Former Essex County Council leader Lord Hanningfield, currently serving a nine-month jail sentence, has lost his appeal against conviction for falsely claiming Parliamentary expenses.

Lord Justice Hughes, Mr Justice Treacy and Mr Justice Blake heard the former pig farmer's challenge, made under his name Paul White, at the Court of Appeal in London today.
