Hanningfield under fire as Met reopens probe

The Met Police has reopened its probe into allegations that ex-Essex CC leader Lord Hanningfield committed fraud by making incorrect House of Lords allowance claims.

The Met Police has reopened its probe into allegations that ex-Essex CC leader Lord Hanningfield committed fraud by making incorrect House of Lords allowance claims.

Lord Hanningfield, 73, was ordered to repay £3,330 worth of falsely claimed allowances by a House of Lords conduct panel earlier this year after it found he had clocked in and out to get the cash.
