According to official health statistics, a fifth of children aged four-to-five in the north London Borough are overweight or obese, a figure which increases to one third of 10- to 11-year-olds. Children in the east of the borough are more likely to suffer from obesity, owing to a big recent increase in takeaways in areas such as Tottenham and Seven Sisters.
