This is a great opportunity for an energetic and innovative planner to lead the modernisation of the council's planning service and major developments in the Borough. We are currently preparing our local plan, which will promote and shape significant growth in a borough dominated by high quality countryside in the green belt.

The development of Crossrail will more than double the number of trains coming to the Borough, making it even more desirable as somewhere to live and work. Other planned major infrastructure, such as the proposed lower Thames crossing, will also add to the challenge of delivering growth in sensitive and constrained landscapes and towns.

We are looking for a planner with managerial experience, excellent communication skills, leadership potential and able to make a contribution to the corporate work of the council.

The role is permanent, but could be offered as a secondment opportunity to a suitable candidate.
