Healey to stand in deputy leader race

Former local government minister and The MJ columnist John Healey has announced he is standing for the Labour Party’s deputy leadership.

Former local government minister and The MJ columnist John Healey has announced he is standing for the Labour Party's deputy leadership.

Mr Healey is the seventh Labour MP who has said they will run for the position and will be standing against Rushanara Ali, Ben Bradshaw, Angela Eagle, Stella Creasy, Tom Watson and former housing minister and shadow communities secretary, Caroline Flint.
