The chief executive of troubled Wolverhampton MBC is in discussion with his leader about stepping down on health grounds.

The chief executive of troubled Wolverhampton MBC is in discussion with his leader about stepping down on health grounds, following a turbulent four years in post during which the council has imposed swingeing budget cuts.

Council leader Roger Lawrence said: ‘Our chief executive Simon Warren has been having medical tests for a heart condition and is currently waiting for the results.
