Greater Manchester's ambitious bid to reconfigure health and care services in the new devolved model received a boost this month when the High Court rejected a challenge to a hospital department closure.

Commissioners had launched the Healthier Together initiative in February 2012 to make health services in the sub-region more efficient and more responsive to needs.
