Plans by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to increase fees by up to 75% are ‘disproportionate and unrealistic' according to NHS Providers which represents 90% of foundation trust hospitals.

The CQC has been asked by the Government to increase its charges to cover the costs of its inspections which under one scenario could mean a rise of 75% for an NHS provider.
