(Health MJ) Local NHS to receive 'Ofsted-style' ratings

Local health services are to be given Ofsted-style ratings from next year to show how they are performing, health secretary Jeremy Hunt has announced.

Local health services are to be given Ofsted-style ratings from next year to show how they are performing, health secretary Jeremy Hunt has announced.

The ratings will cover areas including cancer, dementia, diabetes, mental health, learning disabilities and maternity care. They will be broken down by clinical commissioning groups (CCG) and will not only be based on local data, but will be verified by experts in each field, says the Department of Health (DoH).
