When two-year-old Awaab Ishak tragically lost his life due to mould and damp in his parent's Rochdale housing association home, the shock reverberated around the social housing sector.

The resulting legislation – Awaab's Law – requires social housing landlords to ensure their rental properties are mould-free, and free from other hazardous substances, keeping tenants safe and healthy.
