'No' to Hertfordshire waste scheme

The UK arm of international waste company Veolia has accused the Government of favouring James Bond over saving the planet.

The UK arm of international waste company Veolia has accused the Government of favouring James Bond over saving the planet, after Eric Pickles rejected its plans for a new incinerator in Hertfordshire.

The communities secretary rejected an application for the incinerator in New Barnfield, Hertfordshire, earlier this month, after ruling it would not be appropriate to build this sort of development on green belt land.
