Herts of the matter

A £4.8m injection of funds for Hertfordshire’s care and protection services has given the council a fillip that will benefit the county’s most vulnerable residents. Sue Williams explains

This is a very exciting time for care and protection services in Hertfordshire. We recently learned that the Government awarded £4.8m to our partnership project to revolutionise the way we help around 2,000 of the most vulnerable families in the county.

It is the highest of any grant awarded to local authorities in the UK from the Children's Social Care Innovation Programme. This show of faith is just reward for the hard work of staff at Hertfordshire CC and our partners in health, probation and police in putting a strong bid together.
