Hodge named as LGA Tory group leader

Surrey CC leader Cllr David Hodge has been named as the new Conservative Group leader at the Local Government Association.

Surrey CC leader Cllr David Hodge has been named as the new Conservative Group leader at the Local Government Association. 

The post became vacant due to Conservative rules which dictate term limits for LGA positions. Previous incumbent, Cllr Gary Porter was due to step down this month. However, due to a swing in the political control of the LGA, Cllr Porter has now taken on the position of chairman of the association.
