The Scottish Government has been accused of ‘waging war against local authorities' following reports it plans to strip them of various powers next year.

Convener of the Scottish Local Government Partnership (SLGP) and Aberdeen City Council leader, Cllr Jenny Laing, said the SNP's ‘centralising agenda knows no bounds' after it was claimed Holyrood ministers were drawing up proposals to be implemented after next May's elections.
