Home Counties living with Home Counties values

Shouldn't councils be cultivating home-grown talent rather than relying on expensive imports? Asks Paul Wheeler.

One of the more un-expected aspects of the arrests following the hacking affair is the number of metropolitan police officers who don't live in the metropolis.

Casual conversations indicate that a very large number of police officers prefer the home counties to London boroughs. Contrast this with the situation in New York where all serving police officers have to live in the city (or three adjoining districts in New York State).
