St Albans DC has unveiled its new weapon in the war against climate change – the eco house.

The traditional 1950s council-owned semi has been equipped with the latest in energy and water-saving features, including a wind turbine, solar panel and rainwater tank, and the new tenant family will be monitored for 12 months to see how their energy and water consumption compare with another family nearby.
