Bristol City Council has exceeded its target to bring privately owned empty homes back into use by more than 20%.

Bristol City Council has exceeded its target to bring privately owned empty homes back into use by more than 20%, boosting local plans to meet growing housing demand.

Bristol had set itself a target of 400 homes to be brought back into use for the 2011/12 financial year, but freed up a grand total of 508 properties by focusing on homes that had been empty for less than six months – meaning they required fewer refurbishments.
