Homes transfers signal end for Southern Cross

The end is nigh for troubled care home operator, Southern Cross, after it announced 250 homes had now been transferred to new owners.

The end is nigh for troubled care home operator, Southern Cross, after it announced 250 homes had now been transferred to new owners. Southern Cross last week revealed the remainder of the firm's 750 homes would be transferred by the end of November, when the company would cease to exist.

Southern Cross said the Care Quality Commission had approved the transfer of the 250 homes to various operators.
